For a while we were following the construction of a new boutique complex for Chicago’s most influential fashion industry insider, Ikram Goldman. ¬†Then for some reason we stopped. ¬†Which means that we’re super late in bringing you this photo of her completed Near North Side store at 15 East Huron Street.

As expected, it’s a vision in red, with daring details, dramatic spaces, and even a small cafe.

If you don’t know who Ikram is, let’s put it this way: When Michelle Obama stopped wearing her fashions, it reflected badly on the first lady, not on Ikram.
