Status Update: West Loop Wal-Mart

We have a new spy in the West Loop.  He says physical work is starting on the miniature Wal-Mart going in at Presidential Towers (555 West Madison Street).

He says that inside the building at the corner of South Jefferson Street and West Monroe Street the floor was already only half concrete, and half rubble.  Now in the last couple of days, Wm. A. Randolph construction has hung its shingle inside the glass, and papered over the rest of the windows.  A good sign.

Next time we’re in the area, we’ll double check for posted permits and let you know what we find.  See our spy’s pictures below.

If you’d like to be one of our “spies,” just e-mail your tip, photo, thoughts, or whatever to editor@ChicagoArchitecture.info.
