The Loftrium

How do you know when the neighbors have been using your outside wall as their inside wall?  Look for the paint.

The building at 819 South Wabash Avenue known as The Loftrium has an unusual paint job on its south side, thanks to the YMCA which used to abut it.  East-West University tore down the Y in late 2009, creating an unusual piece of art.  What used to be brightly colored hallways and stairways now look like some kind of late-70’s modernist expression.
