Status Update: Cloister Tuck

Cloister construction at Old Saint Patrick's Church

The new cloister at Old Saint Patrick’s Church is progressing nicely.  The scaffolding and concrete barriers have come down. What used to be a metal fence has become a passageway between the church and the West Loop campus of Frances Xavier Warde School (120 South DesPlaines Street).

The south end also houses an elevator, allowing handicapped access to the church.  The Archdiocese of Chicago has been pushing its churches to improve wheelchair access for a while now.
