Briefly: Grand’s a Go, Saint Pat’s Tower, $4M Park

  • The Chicago Plan Commission has approved construction of the 45-story tower at 410 East Grand Street.  See our previous coverage and pictures here and here.
  • After underwhelming neighbors with changes to the proposed Old Saint Patrick’s Tower at 625 West Adams Street, the developer and architecture firm Solomon Cordwell Buenz are coming back for round seven.  Alderman Fioretti has already stated that there’s no rush to get this building built, so don’t expect to hear anything until almost the end of January.
  • The South Loop is getting a new park.  Fred Anderson Park will be at 16th and South Wabash, and will cost a little under four million dollars to build.
