Today we continue our series called “The Tops.”
Every year, millions of people admire Chicago’s architecture. Most people only get to see the city’s skyscrapers and landmarks from street level. This series answers the question, “What’s up there?” for tourists and locals alike.
Today’s building is the Crane Communications Building, until recently known as 150 North Michigan Avenue. Before that it was the Smurfitt-Stone Building, the Stone Container Building, and the Associates Center, for fans of the movie Adventures in Babysitting.
As much as we’d love to believe that the apex of its unusual shape contains some exclusive VIP office, it looks like the very top of this building contains air conditioning equipment.
