Does It Have To Feed A Meter?

The Odyssey tied up in the Chicago River

In the decade I’ve been writing this blog, posting hundreds of “Slices of Life” from all corners of the city, I have never seen this before.

It’s The Spirit — one of the big ships that takes tourists on dinner cruises from Navy Pier.  But that’s not Navy Pier.  Today it tied up next to the Sheraton Hotel and Towers (301 East North Water Street).

On warm Sundays I will occasionally take The New York Times down to that area for a relaxing read.  I occasionally thought it was a shame that none of the boats plying the river could moor there because the weir is so high.  But I guess you just need the right boat.  This is the right boat.
