It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas, 2012 – Part 3

 Drake Hotel

An orderly row of Christmas wreaths has been deployed in the arched windows that line the second floor of the Drake Hotel (140 East Walton Place) on the Magnificent Mile in the city’s Gold Coast.

The Drake was one of the early homes of what we now know as WGN radio.  In 1922, ‘GN was still called WDAP, and it relocated to the Drake because a of tornado damage at its previous home, down the street at the Wrigley Building (400 North Michigan Avenue).
