Your OHC Photos: Windsor Beach Apartments

Windsor Apartments

One of the great things about Open House Chicago is that regular people get to visit extraordinary places.  Especially private places that are typically off-limits to the public.  One of those places this year was the Windsor Beach Apartments (7321 South South Shore Drive) in the South Shore neighborhood.

The 13-story art deco tower has its own private beach and was designed by Robert De Golyer.

Blog reader Ann F. stopped in and shared these photographs of the building with us.

  1. My grandparents lived here in the 1960’s and 70’s. They sold their unit around 1979 and retired to Florida. I remember playing at the private beach and collecting smooth glass pieces.
