The last time we checked in with Hubbard Place (360 East Hubbard Street), we took you on a hard-hat tour of the 43-story residential skyscraper from the concrete and exposed rebar of its bowels to its unfenestrated penthouse.  Now, as Hubbard Place approaches occupancy, you don’t have to imagine what it will look like when it’s done any longer.

The public relations company for The Habitat Company sent over new photographs of the inside of Hubbard all kitted out in decorator touches.  The press release follows the photo gallery.

Hubbard Place Unveils Luxury Designer Model Apartments at Unique Chicago Event Guests toured models designed by Robert Pope Associates, Crate&Barrel, Room & Board and West Elm

CHICAGO (November 22, 2013) – The Habitat Company is excited to announce that its Designer Debut event that was held this week at its newest development, Hubbard Place, was a huge success. The stunning building is located at 360 W. Hubbard in Chicago’s River North neighborhood. At the event, guests toured five amazing model apartments – each designed by professionals that included Robert Pope Associates, Crate&Barrel, Room & Board and West Elm. Guests also were invited to experience the impressive 29,000 square feet of pure entertainment on the 9th floor, where they enjoyed drinks, appetizers, the sound of jazz, a stunning view of the city – and the many amazing amenities (gourmet kitchen, spa, entertainment lounge, etc.). The Habitat Company, developer and property management company for Hubbard Place, established the partnership with the four well-known designers. In addition to the beautifully-designed models, the partnership includes attractive discounts on furniture and in-home design consultations for Hubbard Place residents. Robert Pope, president of Robert Pope Associates, Inc., designed two of the models, which he described as “fun and hip (studio),” and “handsome, sophisticated and eclectic (one-bedroom).” His inspiration for the models began with a potential resident profile. For the studio, it was a professional female, interested in high-end fashion and yoga. The one-bedroom was designed for a male who is an East Bank Club member, very tech savvy, health conscious, interested in movies and board games, with eclectic taste. “The models are very appealing because they represent the top of the bar,” Pope commented. “They set the standard in luxury.” Robert Pope Associates also designed the interiors at Hubbard Place. The “Playful and Polished” two-bedroom model was designed by Sarah Hillier, merchandising manager, and Kathy Gorman, furniture sales consultant at Crate&Barrel. They were inspired by one of their own clients, the co-founder of Bucketfeet, an original footwear company that offers talented artists from around the world a platform to showcase their art. “My client and his wife are successful, well-educated entrepreneurs who love art, travel and entertaining,” explained Gorman. “My favorite parts of the design are the light-hearted details and whimsical accents,” noted Hillier. Gorman and Hillier enhanced this urban chic model as if a party were unfolding to showcase the expansive open floor plan and stunning city views.

“The character development truly helped mold this project,” said Joan Williamson, lead home stylist at West Elm. “The team had in mind a woman with a passion for her show dog – Oliver. A woman who shows a French bulldog must be her own brand of glamour and tenacity. I wanted the space to feel sophisticated and feminine without being girly.” Williamson said the name that best describes her model is “Luxe in the City.”

Gary Robertson, design associate at Room & Board, says that “Sophisticated Blend” is an accurate description of the model he designed. In terms of the appeal and luxury of the model, he noted, “It’s about materials. Beautiful, modern materials blend to create a high-end space, from the cabinetry hardware to the bathroom fixtures. It’s important to mix textures–velvet, wool, marble, solid woods, steel–to enliven and enrich a space and keep it from feeling flat and static.”

“Hubbard Place is pure luxury living,” says Mark Segal, president and CEO of The Habitat Company. “The Designer Debut was an opportunity for us to showcase not only the five creatively designed model apartments, but the event also provided an opportunity for our guests to get a glimpse of all that Hubbard Place has to offer. From the high-end finishes in each apartment to the incredible Amenity Level, Hubbard Place is a must see.”

Hubbard Place also is a proud supporter of its River North neighbor, the Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Representatives from Bear Necessities shared in the excitement of the Hubbard Place Designer Debut.
