When you were doing your Christmas shopping, did you go to the Old Orchard Mall?  Did you see the big cube?

Chicago’s Juan Gabriel Moreno Architects sent over a picture of “The Cube,” apparently a new pavilion at the outdoor shopping arena that can house pop-up shops.  According to JGMA, right now it’s the home of a Samsung store.

Here’s what the firm has to say about the project:

The JGMA designed Cube has officially opened at Westfield’s Old Orchard Mall. The vision was to create a distinctive destination within the outdoor areas of the mall. A space highly visible to all and with an iconographic design that would distinguish the Cube from its surroundings. Since opening, the Cube has quickly become a prominent feature at Old Orchard and is currently occupied by Samsung.

Joining the JGMA team were Thornton Tomasetti, Thornton Tomasetti’s Building Skin Practice and the Syska Hennessy Group.
