200 North Michigan Will Soon Cease to Exist

200 North Michigan

Just minutes ago, the City of Chicago issued a demolition permit for 200 North Michigan.  The six-story former office building will soon cease to exist as it is remove to make way for a shiny new residential skyscraper.

Loop Spy Daniel sent in this photograph of the building, and you can see the scaffolding that went up around it yesterday.

We told you earlier this week that the street furniture was being removed, but the massive round planters have been left on the sidewalk.  We’ll see if they make it to the construction phase, or if the demolition teams will cart them away.
