Chicago Riverwalk Construction

Chicago Riverwalk under construction in April, 2014

It’s a busy week for the Chicago Riverwalk project.

Loop North News reports that caisson work is underway on the project that will transform the south side of the Chicago River into a public play space. It also quotes CDOT construction manager Oswaldo Chavez as saying that all of the sheet pilings that will anchor the riverwalk to the river bed between State and LaSalle Streets will be installed this week.

These photos showing the progress of construction of the Riverwalk in late April were taken by our Fulton River Spy.
