The latest retail development in Chicago’s hot hot hot Clybourn Corridor district is taking shape.
New City is a $260 million project from Structured Development and Bucksbaum Retail Properties at 1515 North Halsted Street in Chicago’s Goose Island neighborhood. When complete, it will have 360,000 square feet of retail space, a 19-story residential tower, and 40,000 square feet of office space when it opens in the Autumn of 2015.
Among the retail tenants expected at the complex’s opening are Dick’s sporting goods, a Mariano’s supermarket, an ArcLight movie theater, Kings Bowl America, and an Earl’s restaurant. If you’re not familiar with Earl’s, think of it as a Canadian version of P.J. Clarke’s.
New City gets its name from the New City YMCA which was formerly at this location.
