Video: Mighty Morphin’ Maggie Park

Maggie Daley Park construction video frame

It’s hard to believe, it’s been two years since construction began on what will very soon become Maggie Daley Park (337 East Randolph Street).  In fact, the two-year anniversary was two weeks ago, when Loop Spy Daniel e-mailed us to let us know that there is a time-lapse video of the construction project from start of work all the way to today.

If you have a little under five minutes to spare, it’s a fascinating spectacle, and quite educational.

Kiera Ellis over at the Chicago Park District assures us that the park will open by the middle of this month, and Peanut Park will return to entertaining the city’s tots in 2015. And unlike before, when Peanut Park was kind of a dark, sunken area, the improved nut will be elevated by 2,000 cubic yards of dirt and be more in line with the rest of the park.

Location: 337 East Randolph Street, The Loop
