Evanston Beats Chicago to Getting a Hyatt House

Since the Hyatt House brand was created a few years ago, there have been several proposals to bring the brand into downtown Chicago, usually just north of the Chicago River near Michigan Avenue. To date, though, none have materialized.

If you don’t mind going way north of the river — like to Evanston — you will soon be able to experience the Hyatt House brand for yourself. Janko Hospitality, out in Downers Grove, plans to plant the chain’s flag at 1515 Chicago Avenue in Evanston. The 114-room hotel has been designed by friends-of-the-blog SCB.
