Slice of Life: Cable Vision

Ransom Cable House

Chicago Architecture Blog reader Near North Spy Paul has us thinking of spring with the photo he sent in of the Ransom R. Cable House at 25 East Erie Street in Chicago’s Near North neighborhood.  The three-story home was designed by Cobb and Frost for Mr. Cable, who was the president of the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad.  Now imagine dozens and dozens of similar mansions surrounding it, and marvel at how the neighborhood has changed in one hundred short years.
