Construction Update
▶ No. 9 Walton Begins Moving Earth to Create Heaven

Everyone loves skyscrapers. Everyone loves fancy homes. Put the two together, and what do you have? The kind of residence most of us dream of building for ourselves, if we had the means.

Which is exactly what developer James Letchinger, of JDL Development, is doing at 9 West Walton Street in the Gold Coast. He’s constructing a tower so magnificent, he plans on living there himself.

No. 9 Walton will be a 35-story tower featuring 67 ultra-luxury condominiums, with a mix of duplexes and full-floor layouts. There’s even going to be a 11,600-square-foot penthouse. The list of finishes available in each home is too lengthy to list (you can read it here) but suffice it to say, they are top-notch to say the least. There will be an indoor pool, a fitness center and spa, and anĀ indoor dog run. Entertaining? Then you’ll enjoy the private dining room with catering kitchen, and especially the private wine storage available in the “beautifully detailed cellar.”

Yes, it truly does sound like the home we could all find a way to be comfortable in.

This 465,000-square-foot high rise, designed by Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture of Chicago, will include two floors of retail spaces, while the parking will be hidden under ground. Expect the first units to be ready late in 2017.
