When we visited the site of the new, curvy residential tower at 2950 North Sheridan Road two weeks ago, it looked more like a campground than construction zone. In these urban environs, stumbling upon a heaping mound of firewood isn’t commonplace. But of course, what those neatly-stacked logs symbolized was the clearing of land for the next Lake View East neighborhood project by architect Booth Hansen.
Wirtz Realty is building the 19-story condominium building that will take over this corner of Sheridan Road and Oakdale Avenue. The plan is to deliver 82 dwelling units with 113 parking spaces on the first four levels. If that seems like too many parking spaces for an 82-condominium project, know that any abundance of parking will also be made available to other Wirtz Realty properties nearby, namely their residences at 2970 and 3000 North Sheridan.
After our original site visit, a little birdie told us construction equipment had arrived on scene and Power Construction was beginning to turn the lot into homes. So we stopped by again and grabbed some photos for you:
