New People are What’s New at New City

People who live in the Goose Island neighborhood are getting New neighbors.  That’s because New City, the new development at 1515 North Halsted Street, is now taking new residents.  The project features a 19-story residential tower, plus 40,000 square feet of office space, and nine times that much retail space.

RMK Management sent over a picture of what further new residents can expect of their kitchens should they decide to live there.  For more information about New City and the finishes and amenities, see the press release after the picture.

First Move-ins, Models Open at The Residences at NewCity in Chicago’s Lincoln Park

CHICAGO (October 19, 2015) – Chicago-based RMK Management Corp. announced it has welcomed the first residents to the 19-story Residences at NewCity, the 199-unit residential portion of the 8.5-acre mixed-use NewCity development along the Clybourn Corridor in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. RMK has also opened three decorated models to tour at the property.

“This is an exciting milestone for this much-anticipated development because this is when people really see the plans for NewCity come to life,” said Anthony Rossi, Sr., president of RMK Management Corp. “The community offers a one-of-a-kind lifestyle experience in the heart of one of the best neighborhoods in Chicago, and now our residents are experiencing it for themselves.”

Rossi added the model apartments have been very well received by potential renters, too. “Although we leased nearly 10 percent of the building before construction was complete, we still had many people wanting to see a finished apartment before committing,” he said. “Being able to showcase the property’s modern high-end finishes, the fantastic sweeping views and the luxury amenities has helped give people a much fuller appreciation for everything The Residences at NewCity offers.”

Floor plans at NewCity measure 590 to 1,315 square feet and include studio, convertible, one-bed/one-bath, one-bed/one-bath plus den, and two-bed/two-bath plans. All homes feature quartz countertops in the kitchen, bath and built-in tech desk; GE® Energy Star® clean steel appliances; plank flooring throughout; 9- to 10-foot ceilings; floor-to-ceiling windows; in-unit washer and dryer; and private balconies.

Notable interior features, depending on the residence, include sliding partitions in the convertible units; a semi-circular full wall of windows in select two-bedroom plans; and balconies stretching the full length of an apartment home.

Residents of NewCity will have access to a 24-hour doorman at the building’s private entrance, cyber café and coffee bar, reservable conference room, bike parking and repair station, and a fitness studio with interactive classes. The building’s fourth floor will feature an outdoor grilling area, lounge with a fire pit, swimming pool and spa, and dog run; a theater room; and a 24-hour gym with Life Fitness equipment. Residents also have access to Pressbox dry cleaning valet. Reserved parking is available.

“The urban, upscale apartments and full menu of luxury amenities is exactly what renters want in high-end living. However, what makes The Residences at NewCity unlike any other is variety of shopping, dining and entertainment options that are part of the development,” said Rossi.

NewCity will also include more than 360,000 square feet of retail and commercial space including a Mariano’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, LYFE Kitchen, Kings Bowling and more. This is in addition to the already established retailers such as the Apple Store, Crate and Barrel and J.Crew near the popular North Avenue and Clybourn intersection.

“There will be just about everything a city dweller wants for a complete live/work/play lifestyle experience right outside their door,” Rossi said.

Rents at The Residences at NewCity start at $2,083. The leasing office is located onsite at 1457 Halsted St. and walk-ins are welcome.
