The Streeterville skyscraper now known as “Moment” looks like it’s about ready to top out, basking in what sun it can in these early days of winter. Born as 545 McClurg Court, then renamed 410 East Grand, Moment was designed by friends-of-the-blog, SCB, and is getting dangerously close to its planned height of 42 stories and 452 feet.
The photos immediately above and below were sent in by Joe Zekas at YoChicago! who took them from the roof of the neighboring Atwater Apartments tower (formerly Streeter Place), which was developed by Golub, as is Moment. The remainder of the photos are by Chicago Architecture’s own Daniel Schell.
We’re just happy to see this project nearing the topping-out milestone. It was a long four years from proposal to the start of construction, and a thrashed economy made it hard to root for this building while its location remained a surface parking lot year after year. Now delivery of its residences and an adjacent retail/office building is expected late next year.
