Slice of Life: 1001 South State. Just Because.


One of our goals here at Chicago Architecture is to help our loyal readers keep up to date on construction progress around Chicago. When some ground gets broken, when a tower crane sprouts from the ground, when cladding starts climbing the walls, we want you to see it as soon as we do.

Just two weeks ago, we tried to do just that, updating you on progress of Solomon Cordwell Buenz‘s 1001 South State, the 41-story apartment tower Golub & Company, along with CIM Group, is erecting at 1001 South State Street in the South Loop. “So what” you ask “has changed in two weeks that you’re sharing another update?”

Honestly? Not much. But here’s the thing. Thursday was one of those beautifully sunshiny days that makes everything in Chicago sparkle. And doggone it, 1001 South State is just too darn sexy on a sunny day to walk past without taking pictures.

So we’re not even gonna bother you with statistics, fire hoses, and whatnot. We just want to show you the pictures. Here are the pictures:
