Construction Update
Second Presbyterian Church of Chicago To Be Repaired

Second Presbyterian Church of Chicago

Bell Tower, Second Presbyterian Church of Chicago

The historic Second Presbyterian Church of Chicago in the city’s South Loop neighborhood received a renovation permit for much-needed repairs on April 20th.

The church, at 1936 South Michigan Avenue, has been covered in varying degrees of scaffold after a tragic accident back in September of 2014 killed a passerby as she walked past. Now, permission is in place to repair the facade of the bell tower and restore the windows, as well as fixing an exterior set of stairs.

Work will be performed by Bulley & Andrews, the general contractor known in these parts for helping successfully move the historic Rees House from 2110 South Prairie Avenue to 2017 South Prairie Avenue in the Prairie District in 2014.
