The number of female-named skyscrapers is smaller. Recently we picked up Mila at 200 North Michigan Avenue. And now we have a new one: Linea at 215 West Lake Street.
You may remember Thomas Roszak’s 215 West Lake as the 33-story residential tower trying to fill the demand for homes in the northwest corner of The Loop to match the recent fit of office towers going up in the area.
The photo above from Joe Zekas at YoChicago! shows construction progress on the building as of a couple of days ago.
At one time it was rumored that the tower will be called “Level,” but our birdies tell us it’s officially “Linea,” and the source code for architect Thomas Roszak’s Squarespace site backs that up.
Also different since we last checked in on this building is that it’s become less green. Not environmentally, but the pronounced green grid is far less evident in the renderings on the Roszak web site today, compared with a year ago. We’ll keep an eye on this to see if the completed tower does end up with a fan of green tables.
