The downtown Chicago housing boom continues with a new residential mid-rise proposed for 716 North Aberdeen Street in River West.
The 15-story edifice will take the place of an unremarkable one-story yellow brick commercial building, and two surface parking lots. It’s situated south of the intersection of Chicago, Ogden, and Milwaukee Avenues. It’s a half block from the CTA Blue Line’s Chicago subway station, against the embankment for the Kennedy Expressway.
The best part is that the new project comes with a new public park. Construction, care and maintenance are the responsibilities of the developer, but it’s “open to the public free of charge with signage indicating that the Park are [sic] open to the public daily from 5:00am to 11:00pm.”
