Sounds promising, for a building that’s just a half-block off of the north side’s playground. Close enough to use the park daily, but sheltered from the winds of Lake Michigan by a much taller building on Lincoln Park West.
This is a fairly new plan for this location. Back in 2007 there was another proposal for this address. The Jesuits envisioned a smaller building — just three stores — that would serve as their offices, a chapel, and about a dozen guest quarters. That, obviously, never got off the ground. Then in 2015 the land was re-zoned from Institutional Planned Development 1093 to a simple B1-3 Neighborhood Shopping District.
