Last week we gave you an update on the demolition happening at 676 North LaSalle Street. That’s where a non-descript office building is being turned into apartments, getting a townhouse hat, and expanding laterally. Well, the demolition phase must be nearing completion because the City of Chicago has issued construction permits for a foundation for the expansion portion of the project.
FOUNDATIONS PERMIT FOR NEW 149 APARTMENTS A2 RESIDENTIAL HIGHRISE WITH BASEMENT AND 2 LEVELS OF PARKING.
By way of recap: this is a Cedar Street project, designed by Booth Hansen. When finished, the expansion will have the above-mentioned 149 apartments, and the original building will be capped with six townhouses. The basement parking is for 20 cars and 68 bicycles.
