Readers Cry Wolf, Point at Soil Sampling

With the recent completion of 150 North Riverside, and River Point at 444 West Lake Street, could there be signs that the third major confluential construction project is getting ready to start?

Loop Spy Chris sent in photos he took showing soil sampling equipment at Wolf Point.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen dirt rigs at Wolf Point, but it’s the first time since the last time, and that’s good enough for us.

Last month, Hines and the Kennedy family started looking for someone to buy Wolf Point West, the only one of the three towers planned for this site.  Money from the sale of the bKL-designed apartment building would be used to build a 66-story tower called Wolf Point East, right about where the soil sampling machines are sitting in the photos.

Hines has stated that it wants to break ground on Wolf Point East next month, which is just days away, so we’ll keep an eye out for the first construction permits.

  1. I’m overjoyed! It’s been a little boring lately with no caisson drilling…
