Construction Update
One Grand Photo Set of One Grant Park

It must be a marvelous thing to be a tourist who only visits Chicago once a year.  Whether for Lollapalooza, or Christmas shopping, or just to bring grandma a blue tin of butter cookies, when you’ve been away for a while, the city startles with the way its skyline grows and grows.

Those Lollapaloosers are in for a treat when they return this summer, with all of the new skyscraper construction along the edges of Grant Park.  And one of the more prominent buildings going up is One Grant Park (1200 South Indiana Avenue).

The Rafael Viñoly-designed tower will bring another 792 apartments and 12,000 square feet of retail space to the southern border of Chicago’s front lawn.  And at 887 feet, it will be the tallest building in the South Loop when completed.

There’s still a year of building to go, but it’s already making a visual impact.  Check out the photos below from Joe Zekas at YoChicago!, the man who puts the “OG” in “OGP.”  (That’s One Grant Park.)
