As Chicago’s skyline transforms itself once again, it’s easy to get a little crick in your neck looking up all the time. So, instead it’s better to look out.
As in this view looking out from NEMA Chicago, taken by Joe Zekas of YoChicago! last week. It shows the progress of the Vista Tower in Lakeshore East in the foreground, with One Bennett Park in Streeterville in the background.
Unlike most cities which have a single definitive skyline view (*cough* Cincinnati *cough* Houston *cough*), Chicago’s skyline looks varied and impressive from many angles. But joined by Essex on the Park, and NEMA Chicago, these two are helping make the view from Lake Michigan the preferred gazing opportunity.
Just imagine what it might look from a boat if these other proposals happen:
- 400 Lake Shore Drive
- Tribune Tower East
- Building I
- Building J/K
- 1000 M
We’re gonna need bigger postcards.
