Superior Work Begins on Superior House on Superior

Site prep has begun on a new condo block in River North.  When complete, Superior House will feature 34 homes in a 12-story building on the corner of Superior and Sedgwick.

The building is a project from Ascend Real Estate Group, designed by FitzGerald Associates, with Gary Lee Partners doing the interiors.

If you didn’t get the swish corner office at work, then maybe this is where you should sink your Christmas bonus, because every unit is a corner unit.  Which is better since you spend 16 hours a day at home, and just eight at work.  Ideally.

With that corner you get more space in a downtown condo than in most suburban homes.  The smallest units are 1,770 square feet.  On the large end, we’re talking 3,670 square feet.  If you’re the sort of person who collects vintage school buses, you could put a baker’s dozen of them in your new home.

But instead of school buses, FitzGerald went with four bedrooms and a den.  It’s probably a more practical idea.

Prices start at a MacBook under a million dollars and run up to private island territory. Keep an eye on your checking account to see when your tax refund comes through so you can start saving.

Site Prep Underway For Superior House, A Luxury Condominium Development In River North

Boutique building features contemporary architecture, interior design by Gary Lee Partners and a full slate of luxury amenities.

CHICAGO – Site work has begun for Superior House, a new 12-story luxury condominium building at 366 W. Superior Street in River North, developed by an affiliate of Chicago-based Ascend Real Estate Group. The contemporary addition to River North designed by FitzGerald Associates Architects, with interiors by Gary Lee Partners, will include 34 condominiums – each one a corner unit with only 4 units per floor to maximize owner privacy.

Floor plans range from two bedrooms plus a den to four bedrooms plus a den, and have 1,770 to 3,670 square feet of living space. Luxury finishes include Sub-Zero, Wolf and Miele appliances; kitchen and bath cabinetry by Armazem design studio; rift and quarter-sawn white oak floors; Duravit, Kallista and Fleurco Adagio bath fixtures; and large terraces with built-in grilling stations.

Remaining homes, including one penthouse, in the development are priced from $995,000 to $3,350,000. First deliveries are scheduled to take place in 2020.

Superior House’s contemporary exterior is highlighted by floor to ceiling windows, metal vertical accents, and a metal flying buttress roof detail. Private terraces featuring wood patterned ceilings are set into all four corners on each level.

Award-winning interior design firm Gary Lee Partners has put an emphasis on horizontal planes in both the common areas and residences at Superior House. Rows of floor-to-ceiling windows, extra-long kitchen islands, slotted air diffusers, and horizontally laid flooring and wall tile invite the eye’s natural movement and visually “stretch” the interior spaces. GLP also consulted on floor plan layouts and finish selections to achieve homes that are generously proportioned and timeless.

Superior House includes a glass-enclosed amenity suite on the building’s top floor with a residents’ lounge, full kitchen and fitness center. A rooftop deck features multiple outdoor seating areas, a fire pit, herb garden, outdoor kitchen and bar, and a dog run. Other amenities include a lobby with custom fireplace, 24-hour doorman, package delivery room and bike storage. Concierge services will also be available to residents.
