Construction Update
Clark Street Building’s Vertical Expansion Expanding Vertically

It’s been a couple of months since we last checked in on the construction progress at 1201 North Clark Street.  Recently Gold Coast Spy Joel ambled by and took the picture below so we can all get caught up.

You can clearly see the distinction between the now gutted original four-story brick-clad building, and the four stories being added to its top.  The 90,000 square foot project is being executed by Summit Design + Build.

When completed, the ground floor retail space will remain ground floor retail space.  The rest of the building is going residential, meaning a maximum of 98 new homes up top and a height of 125 feet.

If you want to live in one of the residences this building, you’ll have to wait a while.  But if you want to get an incredibly hot hot chocolate, the Dunkin’ Donuts isn’t waiting for the rest of the building, and is already open.

Location: 1201 North Clark Street, Gold Coast
