There’s a race going on at the corner of State Street and Chicago Avenue. Across from Holy Name Cathedral, it seems like two teams of construction workers are in a competition. The concrete people, pouring floors; and the glaziers trying to glass them in.
That’s an obtuse way of saying that the windows of One Chicago seem to be going up awfully quickly. Much more quickly than other skyscrapers we’ve seen recently. The project is years from completion, but there’s enough glass on that thing to bring Pittsburgh back from the dead.
When complete, One Chicago will have 800 residences in a 76-story tower, and a 49-story tower; plus ground floor retail, so there’s much more to this project than its glass. For that reason, here’s a full suite of construction update photos from YoChicago!.
