One of Chicago’s newest residential buildings now has some glass on it. Near North Spy Mike sent in this photo of construction on the northwest corner of West Chicago Avenue and North Wells Street, where ALMI 808 is on its way up.

Mike’s keen eye noticed that the second and third floors of what will eventually be a 17-story tower have already been glassed in.
ALMI 808 is a Hartshorne Plunkard design for — you guessed it — AMLI, the Atlanta residential concern with 20,000 apartments under its belt, and last we checked, some pretty nice boffins helming the local office.
When complete, AMLI 808 will have 297 residences in a 218-foot-tall structure. Legacy transportation users should hone their Rock, Paper, Scissors skills, because this building will have 297 parking spaces for bicycles, and just 16 for cars.
