Remember back at the beginning of the pandemic, when we were all going to use our quarantine time to learn a new language, read Somerset Maugham, and write The Great American Novel? Somehow none of that happened.
Like a Big Gulp cup on the side of the Edens, all those aspirations somehow escaped our grasps. Just like the New Year’s resolutions we made 75 days earlier to be nicer to Larry in accounting, call our mothers more often, and finally kick our 30-year Cool Ranch Doritos addiction.
With a new year upon us, we are provided a third shot at improving ourselves and remembering that we all sprouted on this planet to make it a better place, and not to be a money-grubbing dickweed. (Yes, this is still about Larry.)
To help you out, we provide you with these photos as inspiration. They were provided to us by the neck-strained angle-hunters at YoChicago!, who slipped them into our digital Mr. Pibb when we weren’t looking.
Building C… Wanda Tower… Wanda Vista Tower… Vista Tower… St. Regis Chicago, as viewed from where Upper North Field Boulevard meets Upper East Wacker Drive. The photo above is a fantastic way to look at the tower, and reveals its chewing gum facade: très Wrigley.
The second photo is from the same location, but without all the vertigo. It’s looking south, following Upper North Field Boulevard through the middle of the building, finally giving Upper East Wacker Drive a long-awaited connection to Upper East Waterside Drive. (There will be a quiz.)
