Sinclair Groundbreaking Marks Turnaround for Clark/Division Area

With a new CTA station under their feet, and the promise of a new skyscraper soon to rise above their heads, the developers, architects and financiers of The Sinclair (1200 North Clark Street) have officially broken ground on the residential tower and supermarket project. Jewel Roughed as Market Moves for Sinclair

It was just a few days ago we told you that demolition crews were poised to take a bite out of the former Jewel-Osco supermarket at 1200 North Clark Street.  Well, they’re certainly not wasting any time. Well, we’ve...

Use Those Coupons Now: Tower of Jewel Soon to Rise Under a New Name [updated]

The Gold Coast’s newest skyscraper is about to take shape at the corner of Clark and Division.  The Jewel-Osco store at 1210 North Clark Street will close June 4, so it can be demolished and replaced with a new skyscraper and a much better store. It’s the second very welcome rehabilitation of this grotty corner of Chicago.  The CTA is wrapping up its refurbishment of its Red Line subway station at this intersection. It was...
